BEHIND OUR LOVE... CHAPTER 43

IZZY'S POV;

    I turned and looked at him, he was watching TV. Like seriously? His mind is so focus on the TV as if he had done nothing wrong. I felt like shutting off the TV, I wanted to tear the money and blow it to his face again but if I do this I don't know either its my mouth I'll be using to go to school. I hissed loudly so he could here me. I put the stupid money inside my side bag before I made it to the exit and left. James is really a beast I thought to myself.

        Luckily today also, I found a taxi not far away from home. A 30minutes ride took me to school. We arrived almost together with Fiona, she's so lucky her husband get to drives her to everywhere she wants to go and not like me, now to even give me my complete allowances is becoming a problem.

         “Morning Izzy” her thin voice pulled me out of my thoughts. “Oh hello, where is prince Kevin today?”

     “He is at the back seat sleeping” I was busy looking for Ryan's car in the parking lots that I didn't get to hear what she was saying. God! I can't find it, oh god no! I pray that he have lectures at school today 'cause he is mostly at the hospital now.

“Izzy?” I still didn't respond until when she tapped me by the shoulder.

   “Yye...yes! What did you say?”

    I said “he is at the back seat sleeping.” she repeats herself.

      “Ohh!” I smile “I didn't get to see him. Well, lets go you know its physiology we are having.” I state still stealing glances at the parking lots before I held her hand as always and she whipped it away.

       “Look at me Izzy, whats wrong with you?” She asked scruitinizing my face.

          “Nothing” I state still stealing glances at the parking lots.

        “Ohhh!” She chuckles “looking for Ryan's car?” she teases.

         “God! NO! Fiona you are wierd you know, what are you talking about?" I lied.

          “Its written all over your face that you are dying to see him, guess you've missed his handsome face through out the weekend.”

         “Sure I wanna see him isn't he my friend I mean our friend...?”

         “Sure?  Is he not morethan a friedn to you? Do you... like him?” She teased and giggled.

         “Oh Gosh Fiona since when have you become such a gossip?” I grasped her hand and we walked to the lecture room.

4 hours later, exactly by 12noon we went out for lunch. On reaching to the cafeteria, I saw Ryan sitted on our casual table he must be waiting for us. A smile suddenly appears on my face seeing him just makes me happy. Just then I remembered Fiona is standing next to me gosh she'll start saying all sort of rubbish now. I disgracefully turned my face to her direction and saw she's looking at me.

      “Now explain that, Izzy do you like Ryan?”

    “Fiona please shut up! Now lets go and eat.” Only then I remembered I don't have money to buy food today, I've got just N500 and if I spend it for today what will I be eating tomorrow? I decided not to eat anything today since I'm not that hungry.

    We went over to our table and did the formal greetings and hugs. Gosh his perfume is sending goosebumps all over my body. He is wearing a white shirt with a black blazer on top and a black sweaty pants. Sitting beside him, Ryan asked Fiona and I what we will be eating to get our orders, Fiona told him what she wants and I played dumb.

      “Izzy?” His charming voice states. “Are you not going to eat today?”
Time to lie now.

    “Yeah actually... I will not be eating today...” He interrupted me. “And why is that?”

   “Because ermm.. Ermm you see I'm fasting yes I'm fasting today.” I fake a smile

       “Common Izzy” he wrapped his hand around my shoulder “do you expect me or Fiona to believe this?” He turned and looked at her and she gave him a disapproving look.

   “Come lets get something to eat.” He held my hand and we went over to buy lunch. He bought us thesame food and Fiona's different as she ordered. Returning back to our table he placed our plates in front of us. Fiona brought out her clutch and pass Ryan her money. Oh God No! What do I do now? Sure I can't pay for this its worth a thousand and I've got just N500 with me.

      “No mom Kevin this is on me I've paid for those already, don't bother. As a matter of fact I'll be buying you guys lunch for the whole week.”
I felt like hugging Ryan at that moment, he is alsways a remedy to my problems I didn't know the time I led out a relived sigh. They all turned at thesame time starring at me they must have heard me. I have to say something or else these two will keep on starring at me.

     “Oh no! Ryan I mean its embarrassing how can you buy us lunch?” I pulled out my side bag and started searching for my purse to give him back his money as if I have it.

       His firm hand caught me. A gasp suddenly escaped my mouth. “Don't worry Izzy, its a decision I made” he said smiling.

     “Are you sure?” I gave him a concerned look.

     “Oh common! If you like I can buy you lunch for the whole semester.” He chuckled.

    I punched him, “there you go again. Now lets eat.” I picked up my burger and had a bite.

   “Oops!” Ryan exckaimed I quickly turned to look at him, he averted his gaze to Fiona. “Wasn't she the one who just said she's fasting today?”

     “Ryaaann!! Okay okay I admit it I lied to you guys, I wasn't fasting. Now lets eat.” I didn't know I was hungry until I tasted the burger, it is so delicious.

    He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and muttered “sure Izzy? you are not trying to save your weekly allowances.”

   “God no!” I twisted his chin and that made him laugh, I laughed along with him. Fiona who was sitted there looking at us . “You are guys are really making me feel jealous, you two look  ute together.”

    Oh not again Fiona. I know she is doing this on purpose. Before I could get to respond Ryan already did.

     “Who us? You mean Izzy and I? I can be cute but her? No way!” he said sarcastically.

      “Ohh youre so full of yourself you know.” I took another bite in and just then I felt nausea, something just came over me, I felt like vomitting. I quickly stood up and covered my mouth making my way out. I ran a little bit far away from the cafeteria before I stopped and started vomitting. I was vomitting so hard as if wanna vomit out my intestines. Just then I heard footsteps approaching which I'm suere its Fiona's and Ryan's.

    I managed to speak up. “Stop there please, don't come over here its disgusting.” Both ignoring me, they came over to me, Ryan was patting my back with his other hand and the other gently rubbing my back with gently where as Fiona brought out a bottled water from her bag and helped me wash my mouth, they were both condoling me. Just as I stood up, I felt my feet trembling, my eyes and head rolling. I was feeling dizzy just as I was about to fall Ryan hurriedly held me and I fell on his warm body. He picked me up like a baby and took me to the sick bay.

    He left as the nurse came in. She checked me up and gave me some drugs after taking them in I decided to leave but then, she asked me to stay a little longer so as to get some rest. Fiona stayed with me busy condoling me, she seems so worried than I myself. Just as the nurse left, Fiona moved closer to me scruitinzing my face. The way she was looking at me made me felt suspicious.

      “Izzy” she finally called my name. “Yes” I answered weakly.

    “You're pregnant.”

    “What!?” I exclaimed “what are you saying now? You've been acting wierd since this morning and see the way you're talking as if a doctor.”

      “You're pregnant Izzy.” She states confidently again.

       “Fionaaa!!! Stop it. You know better than anyone else the kind of relationship existing between James and I there's noway I can be pregnant. He always uses protection... Wait omg! I mean there is possibility that I am pregnant, that incident of the other day. Gosh! No I mean yes I mean I don't know.” I state all confused.

     “Calm down Izzy” she rubbed my hand. “Calm down and tell me what is it?”

      I told her everything regarding the incident of the other day. “Wow!” She exclaimed “then you're definately pregnant.” She clapped her hands cheerfully. “You're pregnant girl!”

       “Oh no I can't be not at this time”

     “What are you saying Izzy? You've always wanted to get pregnant, isn't it?”

       Ignoring her question I said. “Don't tell Ryan about this okay?” I warned her.

      “But why? He suppose to know Izzy, this is such a great news.”

      “Are you kidding me Fiona? You know too well that Ryan is not aware that i'm married how on earth can I start telling him i'm pregnant you want me to scare him away?”

      “What are you saying Izzy? Do you like the guy?”

     “God no! Fiona you're such a gossip. I don't like h-”

    “Liar!” she cuts me off, “you're lying. It obvious that you like him. There!” she points out at my forehead “Its written all over your face that you like him why denying it?”

     “Okay okay you got me I do like Ryan but that doesn't mean anything or will change a fact between us because he considers me as a friend and that stays that. I'm never gonna tell him I like him and you also don't tell him I like him, I'm married or that I'm pregnant okay?”

     “Okay, but Izzy what of James? How can you forget so easily that you're married? What do you think of James now, he is still a husband to you”

    Without hesitation I answered her. “He has never been a husband to me and not now. James is dead to me. You know too well than anyone else that James don't deserve my love, he never once loved me. And I too now, I don't love him, I hate him just as much as he hates me or even more”
